“Hello, Abu Dhabi? Yeah, this is Taste. I’m outta here.” Well, you can’t really blame Taste now can you? There’s only so much abuse a sense can take, and the motorists of Abu Dhabi – the same gulf emirate that ordered up the gold-plated Rolls-Royce – have taken things one step too far. Several, actually.
Your eyes do not deceive you, and this is not available for rent to drive your kids to their homecoming. This custom HUMMER H2 convertible was spotted at the Emirates Palace Hotel, a location whose overdeveloped sense of opulence is rivaled only by the horrid monstrosity parked in front.
A topless HUMMER? Okay, the original H1 was available without a roof, but not with a seven-seat, red leather interior, a matching tribal pattern paint job, blistered wheel arches housing chrome wheels and what appears to be a hood scoop packed with a row of driving lights. You know, just in case someone could have missed this tooling around the streets of Abu Dhabi at night.

Hummer Was GM’s Fortune Now its GM’s biggest mistake… What do you think about the electric car any thoughts?
That is the ugliest hummer I have ever seen. What a joke.
Talking about car fanatics in the Middle East, you should look up the drifting videos from the UAE. Crraaazy skills! There’s definitely a strong truck and car fan culture there.
I hate SUV’s. I think they’re terrible. The clog up the roads, the guzzle gas, you can’t see around them if they’re blocking the street and a lot of the people who drive them can’t maneuver them properly. SUV drivers are some of the worst drivers I have ever seen in my life. Usually driven by “I need to impress the PTA” moms or blond ditzes who can’t drive properly in the first place.
Secondly, okay I can understand if you absolutely need one for a job where you have to haul a lot of things on a daily basis. That’s one thing. But to have one just to have one or because you have one tiny kid is ridiculous. You’re not buying it for the kid’s comfort. The kid doesn’t know the difference. You’re buying it to impress all the other moms. Who cares! My mother used to put my sister and I in the back seat of her small, 4-door sedan and we’d go. We even drove across country in that car. We never complained. We turned out just fine. My dad’s car was even a little smaller and we’d ride in that as a family as well. It’s especially worse when teenagers own one. What the Hell does a teenager need an SUV for? They don’t. Again, just trying to impress people.
The Hummers are the worse yet. Go back to the desert where you belong. No one buys them for any practical purpose, because there is none for them. They buy them for looks and again, to impress people. I’m not impressed by someone’s Hummer, in fact, I laugh at people who own them. They’re pathetic.
